City Officials will host a ‘Neighborhood Meeting’ on Tuesday, September 29^th at 5:00pm at Harvest Coffee on 2^nd Avenue as part of the ‘All Hands on Deck Campaign’ to clean up our neighborhoods and our city.  We must get a handle on the uncleanliness of our community, and it will take “all of our community leaders and residents to make this happen”. This is just the start of getting this done through collaboration and coordination. 

The Georgia Department of Transportation and Transportation Investment Act Program will host a Public Information Open House for proposed improvements to Williams Road (P.I. No. 0019520).

The open house will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. at Northside Recreation Center, 2010 American Way. The public may attend at any time during the event. No formal presentation will be given.

The Georgia Department of Transportation and Transportation Investment Act Program will host a Public Information Open House for proposed improvements at the Schomburg Road and Blackmon Road bridges over J.R. Allen Parkway (P.I. No. 0019535).

The open house will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. at Blackmon Road Middle School, 7251 Blackmon Road. The public may attend at any time; no formal presentation will be given.

The Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission will host its second annual Tee Like a Lady Golf Clinic on Thursday, September 10, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Bull Creek Golf Course. The event will feature two instructional clinic sessions followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m.

A portion of the Columbus River Walk located behind the Columbus Civic Center will be temporarily closed from Monday, August 31, through Thursday, September 3, 2026.  The closure is necessary to allow Columbus Water Works to perform maintenance on a discharge structure in the area.
