Phone Scam Spoofing Alert
The Clerk of Superior and State Courts has been made aware of recent instances of scammers calling or texting people and claiming to be representatives of the Court. This is known as spoofing. Please be aware that the Court does not call or text members of the public who are parties in a case directly to request information.
If you receive a call from an unverified caller, do not send any money or share personal information. If you have a pending case, you will receive written documentation from the Clerk of Superior & State Courts.
If you need to speak to a Clerk’s Office staff member, you can contact the Clerk’s Office at (706) 653-4370 during normal hours of operation (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
If you believe you have received a scam call, you can report it to the Federal Trade Commission online at reportfraud.ftc.gov or by calling 1-877-382-4357. The FTC is the primary government agency that collects scam complaints. You can also report unwanted calls to the National Do Not Call Registry.
