The Columbus Consolidated Government will hold a public auction of surplus vehicles and equipment on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The auction will take place in the parking lot of the Columbus Civic Center, located at 400 Fourth Street, Columbus, Georgia.

Due to widespread storm damage in a designated area of Columbus-Muscogee County, the Columbus Consolidated Government’s Department of Public Works will enact a temporary moratorium on Tree for Fee charges for eligible residential storm debris.

The Georgia Department of Transportation advises motorists that Pierce Chapel Road at U.S. 27 will temporarily close for construction related to the ongoing U.S. 27 improvement project starting Monday, September 21. The expected closure will be in effect for two weeks, weather permitting.

Georgia law requires that all Annual Notice of Assessments that were returned by the postal service as undeliverable are posted on the County website.

The Columbus Consolidated Government’s Community Reinvestment Department will host two public meetings to discuss how federal funds were used during the past year to benefit the Columbus community through the HUD Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER).
