Help the Hooch is a state wide watershed festival that focuses on cleaning up litter in our waterways. CCG Stormwater staff regularly meets with other agencies to organize the annual golf tournament, cleanup efforts, and watershed festival. Thousands of volunteers from Muscogee County and the surrounding area contribute their time and effort and remove tens of thousands of pounds of trash from the local watersheds.

Each year the Stormwater Division attaches approximately 250 aluminum markers to storm drain inlets located throughout Muscogee County. The markers are intended to remind people that anything that enters the storm drain will flow straight to a waterway.

Stormwater staff displays several aspects of protecting the environment at events designed to excite students about science and technology. Some topics covered include inspecting pipes with our CCTV system, litter, and water sampling. A copy of our litter brochure passed out at events can be found below.
