Traffic Engineering Division

The Division of Traffic Engineering provides Traffic Engineering services to this Community for the purpose of creating and maintaining an expedient and safe means of transporting people, materials and goods through our city/county. These services are provided through geometric designs, pavement markings, traffic signs, traffic signals, street lighting, traffic accident analysis and traffic ordinances. This Division is also responsible for maintaining all of the City’s Radio Communication Systems and Components.

Traffic Operations Section

The Traffic Operations section is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the City’s 270 signalized intersection, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of traffic signs with in the city as well the installation and maintenance of traffic markings and striping on city streets. Their responsibilities include:

  • Pavement Markings, installation and maintenance
  • Traffic Signs, installation and maintenance
  • Traffic Signals, operation and maintenance
  • Routine preventive maintenance
  • 24-hour emergency response
  • New construction inspection
  • Minor construction and improvements
  • Citizen service response
  • The operation and maintenance of the signal communication systems
