A suspect is in custody following two separate robberies at local smoke shops. On Thursday, April 24, 2025, Columbus Police Officers responded to the 5000 block of Lakeshore Road (101 Smoke Shop) in reference to an armed robbery.

***UPDATE*** Preliminary investigation revealed Calvin Johnson, 37, was the driver of the vehicle during the incident. On April 25, 2025, Johnson was taken into custody and charged with Murder (Party to a Crime).

On April 11, 2025, Columbus Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Rigdon Road. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim, later identified as Jaylon Wesley, 20, lying in the middle of Colorado Street.
