Over the past several weeks, the Columbus Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit investigated a series of vehicle break-ins in the Schomburg Road area. The investigation identified Trevian Hipp, 22, as the suspect.

***UPDATE*** Probable cause was established to obtain warrants for Kevawn Davenport, 22, in connection with the death of Lexus Antrom. On February 12, 2026, detectives served the warrants on Davenport while he remains hospitalized and receiving treatment for his injuries.

On February 12, 2026 at 4:03 a.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 4500 block of Gardiner Drive in reference to a shooting.

As a result of continued investigation, three individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of William Tatum. On February 5, 2026 Ka’Sean Huff, 26, was taken into custody by CPD’s Fugitive Unit.

The Columbus Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an unknown male whose remains were recovered in 2018, as the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.

The Property Crimes Unit reports the following enforcement activity for the months of December 2025 and January 2026. During this period, investigators cleared 71 cases and arrested 23 individuals, resulting in a total of 205 charges. These totals do not include the results from three Porch Pirate Details conducted in December 2025.

Two men were arrested on charges related to human trafficking and drug trafficking following a multi-month investigation conducted in coordination with federal law enforcement partners.

The Columbus Police Department has been named the recipient of the Georgia Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates’ Phyllis Goodwin Agency of the Year Award. The award was presented during the organization’s annual ceremony in Savannah, GA

The Columbus Police Department conducted a Special Operations detail focused on criminal activity and crime reduction, along with a Traffic Unit DUI detail on New Year’s Eve and over a five-day period (December 27–31, 2025) surrounding the holiday.
