17 ARRESTED IN PORCH PIRATE OPERATIONS

The Columbus Police Department conducted three separate porch pirate operations over the past several weeks as the holiday shopping season ramps up. These operations took place on three different days at various locations throughout Columbus and were launched after CPD received multiple reports from residents whose packages were being stolen from their homes.
Columbus Police Department Announces Decrease in Part 1 Crimes

The Columbus Police Department is reporting a decrease in crime as the year comes to a close. From January 1 to December 2, 2025, the city reported 1,022 fewer Part 1 crimes than during the same period in 2024. Violent crimes show a 29% reduction for the year.
Warrant Roundup Leads to Eight Arrests

The Columbus Police Department’s Fugitive Unit carried out a warrant roundup on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with support from Special Operations, Investigative Services, Patrol, and the Department of Community Supervision (DCS). The detail cleared 15 felony warrants and nine misdemeanor warrants.

Medical Examiner Releases Cause of Death in Evelyn Farmer Case

The Columbus Police Department is clarifying the facts surrounding the death of Evelyn Farmer, 68. She was found deceased inside her home in the 4800 block of Josephine Street on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Sixth Arrest Made in Shirley B. Winston Recreation Center Murder

On November 17, 2025, a sixth suspect was taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of Jacarie Charles. Dominick Gill, 20, was arrested in Philadelphia by the U.S. Marshals and is awaiting extradition to Columbus.
Budgetel Inn & Suites Murder Investigation

On November 16, 2025 at 7:19 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 3100 block of Victory Drive (Budgetel Inn & Suites) in reference to a shooting. Responding officers discovered a Black male (later identified as Xavier Igus, 31) suffering from a gunshot wound.
